Has Michael Richards hurt the Seinfeld Brand?

Cosmo KramerUndoubtedly, you have head that Michael Richards (aka Cosmo Kramer) come under heat for using the N word. Some are saying that his career is over. But what about the Seinfeld franchise and brand? Has it been damaged? Are networks now less likely to show re-runs? Will Seinfeld DVD sales be impacted? If Jesse Jackson is successful with his boycott, it just might be. Would it have mattered if Richards had a bigger piece (if he has any piece) of the future royalties generated from Seinfeld sales?

Update:
Was this a marketing stunt just in time for Christmas at the release of the Seinfeld Season 7DVD? If so, it is clever, but pretty low.

    no, it hasn’t been hurt at all. in fact, sales for the latest seinfeld dvd’s are pretty high. i saw a report on on the news about that the other day.
