I read Small is the New Big by Seth Godin a couple months ago. It is a great read. Here, Seth talks with Jennifer Jones with Podtech, Via Jeremiah’s blog.

Via Twice, Circuit City has opened a store in Second Life. The store was built for them by IBM. Bill McCorey senior VP and CIO of Circuit City:

Via Carpetbagger Report:
* Commercial websites and personal blogs “would be required to report illegal images or videos posted by their users or pay fines of up to $300,000.”
* Internet service providers (ISPs) are already required to issue such reports, but under McCain’s legislation, bloggers with comment sections may face “even stiffer penalties” than ISPs.
* Social networking sites will be forced to take “effective measures” such as deleting user profiles’ to remove any website that is “associated” with a sex offender. Sites may include not only Facebook and MySpace, but also Amazon.com, which permits author profiles and personal lists, and blogs like DailyKos, which allows users to sign up for personal diaries.
John McCain, have you heard of the First Amendment? It seems these days that being a politician means to can ignore The Constitution as long as you use one or more of the following rhetoric:
A. To protect the children from the outside world
B. To protect Americans from terrorists
C. Keep minorities marginalized
D. To protect copyrights for companies that pay out
According to TechCrunch, a voice talent service called Voices.com is mad because Google’s new audio ad service seems to be a competitor. Why not just partner with them? There could be services that the two companies can provide to each other. Being in audio production myself, I am hoping that I can get some work from local business wanting a radio spot using the new Google service or maybe even Voices.com.
Update
David Ciccarelli at the Voices.com blog explains more on this: Google Audio Ads Lowers Cost with Remnant Ads, How Google Audio Ads Work.
Danny explains (with passion that only Danny can express) what search marketing and contextual ads are. Got to the post at Daily Search Cast here or listen in the Odeo player below. (Photo courtesy of Matt McGee at SmallBusinessSEM.com).

Twice (This Week In Consumer Electronics), one of the main sites reporting on the consumer electronics industry, has added Digg and Del.icio.us buttons, an RSS feed, and comments. In the past, reading Twice.com articles required registering and logging in. It appears Reed Business Systems, the parent company has added these features to all of its industry publications (these are the US sites listed), as well as Reed Business Systems press releases (RSS feed here).
Update 12/23/2006
Sometime between the original post and the date above they have added “blog this” buttons for Blogger and LiveJournal, an add to MyYahoo button, and a submit to Slashdot button.
Undoubtedly, you have head that Michael Richards (aka Cosmo Kramer) come under heat for using the N word. Some are saying that his career is over. But what about the Seinfeld franchise and brand? Has it been damaged? Are networks now less likely to show re-runs? Will Seinfeld DVD sales be impacted? If Jesse Jackson is successful with his boycott, it just might be. Would it have mattered if Richards had a bigger piece (if he has any piece) of the future royalties generated from Seinfeld sales?
Update:
Was this a marketing stunt just in time for Christmas at the release of the Seinfeld Season 7DVD? If so, it is clever, but pretty low.
