Dave Winer on Money in Web 2.0

Dave‘s idea in his latest podcast is this: if a journalist is not going to write from a customer’s point of view, or you have a community that knows what product it wants better than a an established electronics manufacturer, there is an opportunity. He does not say this in the podcast, but he appears to be alluding to how Jason Calacanis and Peter Rojas might design and manufacture and MP3 player, since he is talking about this in his blog post. He seems to be expanding the idea he had back in 2001 here. This is getting pretty interesting. If traditional companies are not going to leverage to the tools of web 2.0, web 2.0 tools will be used to build new companies to compete with the traditional companies.
